Fulton Oysterfest 2024 Helps Fulton Fire Department






The coastal fishing community of Fulton, Texas, holds an annual festival called the Fulton Oysterfest to honor its rich maritime heritage. Every year, on the first weekend of March, the festival showcases a range of events that highlight the region's distinctive oyster harvesting industry, as well as the local seafood, art, and music scene. This year’s festival kicks off March 2nd and lasts until March 5th.


A wide variety of delectable seafood, including fresh oysters served on the half-shell, oyster gumbo, fried oysters, and other seafood favorites, are available at the festival, along with live music and performances, arts and crafts vendors, and other entertainment.


The festival features a men’s and women’s Raw Oyster Eating contests as well as an Oyster Decorating Contest which are some of the highlights of the Fulton Oysterfest. The festival also includes arts and crafts, a fun parade and even fireworks!


This event is fun for the entire family and is sponsored by the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department. This 100% volunteer fire department provides vital lifesaving fire prevention and fire-fighting services to the town of Fulton. The department relies on these fundraising events to purchase needed equipment and provide vital training to these volunteers. Over 40% of their annual budget can be made during the Oysterfest, making this annual event vital to their mission.
