Welcome to Catchin' Paradise, your premier vacation beach rental in Rockport, Texas. We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help you plan your perfect getaway in Rockport and Port Aransas.   • Where are you located?
    We are located in beautiful Rockport, Texas. The cottage is conveniently located between Rockport Beach and Port Aransas in the Ocean Reef Cottages.
  • How do I check-in?
    The self-check-in process is easy and convenient. A few days prior to arrival, you will receive an email with check-in instructions. The entry to the residence is electronic and is accessed with a code that is provided to you prior to check-in.
  • What are the house rules?
    1. No smoking or vaping in or within 50ft of any opening to the home. A $500 fine will be assessed to thoroughly clean and mitigate smoke. 2. No parties or events. Additional cleaning fines will be assessed. 3. No extra guests or pets without prior approval. 4. No illegal drugs or illegal activities allowed. 5. Proof of ID is required for all bookings. Locals must contact host prior to booking. 6. Quite hours are between 10:00pm – 7:00am 7. Use the outdoor shower to remove excess sand. Remove shoes at the door. 8. Please do not hang towels from the balcony, use the provided drying rack. 9. Do not unplug or alter the internet router, video cameras, smoke detectors, or noise monitors. 10. Please do not clean fish or game inside the house.
  • Is there a swimming pool?
    There is a community swimming pool. Please see the rules below. 1. Hours of Operation: 5:00am – 10:00pm. 2. A guest 18 years of age or older must be present at all times. 3. An adult must accompany any child under 14 at all times. 4. Double diapers must be worn by children who have not been potty trained. 5. Proper swim wear is required. No cut-off shorts. 6. No running, horseplay or disorderly conduct is allowed.
  • Is there a fee to use Rockport Beach?
    Yes, there is a fee to drive and park inside the beach. Please see their website for the most current fee schedules and beach rules. HINT: There is a parking lot before the entry gate to the beach where you can park and walk onto the beach for free! Rockport Beach
  • Can you recommend any local restaurants?
    There are tons of great restaurants in Rockport/Port Aransas. Here are just a few of them. SteerBurger - Rockport (Best burger anywhere in this town and most others!!)   • Do you have any recommendations for bars and live music?
    If your looking for nightlife you have come to the right place. Rockport/Port Aransas have several places featuring local and regional artists playing a mix of music. Here are some of our favorites and you can find more on our webpage: Sugar Shack - Live music with an inside and outside bar. Say hi to the owner, Donna T. Rock Bottom Pub and Park - Located in the Cultural Arts District, this is a great place for music and drinks after shopping and exploring the Arts District. Marker 12 - Great location for wings and a cold drink. The bar is only two miles from Catchin' Paradise and has great views of the channel. Boatman's Bar and Marina - Located in the Cove Harbor Marina, this huge bar is a great place to meet up with friends and tell lies about the fish that got away. Treasure Island - What's better than one bar? Three under one roof. This Port Aransas favorite has both indoor and outdoor spots to listen to music and dance the night away.
  • Where is the closest boat ramp?
    The closest public boat launch is located on TX-35 Business and Cover Harbor. There is one ramp on the North side next to Paradise Key Bar and one on the Southside. The boat launch is located near the Cove Harbor Marina and you can stop in at Paradise Key Dockside Bar and Grill nextdoor.   • Can you reccomend a fishing or hunting guide?

  • Where can I find information on the Ferry?
    The ferry between Port Aransas and Aransas Pass is operated 24 hours a day 365 days a week, weather permitting.   • Is there a shuttle to Port Aransas?
    During the summer months, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the CCRTA offers a shuttle called the Port A Express. The link to maps and schedules is EXPRESS | Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (ccrta.org). You can skip the line at the ferry by using the Express which has priority boarding!
  • Where is the closest beer/wine/liquor?
    There are several locations that sell beer/wine/liquor however, the closest is Palm Liquor just across TX-35.
  • Is there anywhere to play golf?
    The two best options for golf are the Live Oak County Club in Rockport and the Palmilla Beach Golf Course in Port Aransas. Live Oak is members only until noon and then open to non-members after noon. No need to book a tee time at Live Oak, just show up ready for your next hole-in-one!
  • How far is Rockport from Dallas?
    Rockport is approximately 380 miles from Dallas and it is about a 6 hour drive.
  • How far is Rockport from San Antonio?
    San Antonio is about 160 miles from Rockport and is about a 2.5 hour drive.
  • How far is Houston from Rockport?
    Rockport is approximately 182 miles from Houston and it takes about 3 hours to drive it.
  • How far is Austin from Rockport?
    Rockport is approximately 191 miles from Austin and it takes approximately 3.5 hours to drive.
  • What is Rockport Texas known for?
